Trinity Church
A publication of Trinity Church for February, 2012
Nora’s Notes
February plays host to two great events: Valentine’s Day and Ash Wednesday. What do they have in common?
Love….. On Valentine’s Day we celebrate friendships, relationships with significant others, and love between
husband and wife. Love….. On Ash Wednesday we begin the journey that leads to the greatest love on earth
and in heaven….Jesus’ love for us through His death and Resurrection. Love….. So, Happy February!
Take it all in! And the greatest of these is Love. I Corinthians 13

Old Business:
Average attendance in December was 69. Average yearly attendance was 52. Pastor Nora presented the vital church goals for our church. Virginia wanted to discuss the bookshelves being moved into the nursery. The first step is moving the old bookshelves out of the fellowship hall to the nursery to get the library started.
New Business:
Motion to move the council meetings to Wednesday nights at 7:30. All were in favor and so the motion carried. Interim parish vote on January 8th - Trinity voted Yes, Uehling voted No, Wisner/Beemer postponed their vote until the 22nd of January, and Pilger's vote is unknown at this time. Meals for Lenten Supper will be starting on February 22nd. There is a conference on the 4th of February in Norfolk. The conference is called "Hope for a Rural Congregation." Our church has paid for 4 people to go to this. If anyone is interested in attending please contact Pastor Nora. Virginia motions to adjourn.

Teammates Mentoring Program
On December 28, 2011, President Obama declared January 2012 National Mentoring Month to recognize those in our communities who take time to be a positive role model for youth. He calls upon all of us to invest in our future and the future of our nation by becoming mentors.
Team Mates Mentoring is presently recruiting trusted, dependable adults who might like to become a mentor for a child in our area. Mentors only have to give one hour a week of their time to meet with a child at their school during the school year.
Mentors meet with a child selected by the school or referred by their parent(s) who might benefit from having an extra caring adult in their lives. Depending upon your schedule, you may be able to
meet with your mentee any time during the school day. This may include lunch time, study hall, recess, before school, after school, or other times. We do our best to work around your schedule.
Mentors must pass a background check and will receive orientation from the TeamMates Mentoring Program before they begin meeting with their assigned match.
Please call me if you have any questions or would like more information on becoming a mentor. I can be reached at 402-372-6010, bfaltys@cumingcounty.ne.gov, or at my office in the Cuming County courthouse. I look forward to hearing from you!
We all can make a difference….one child at a time!

West Point-Beemer-Bancroft Chapter.
